Myk, Cassie, Audrie and I ventured to the Farmer's Market today. First trip of the season. We saw lots of dogs and Audrie got to smell lots of flowers. We listened to a street performer and Audrie danced. We bought some flowers, pita bread, a cat toy and some tea. Papa did not care for the tea so it will be going to Jacob. Mittens loved the cat toy and drooled all over it. Ew. The flowers are beautiful and I'm sure the pita bread will taste great with my hummus.

Mom's Family Dinner
Mom's birthday was on Easter. So we celebrated last night with family dinner. BBQ-ed marinated round steak, grilled potatoes and carrots. Then there was pineapple upside down cake for dessert. Tanya and the girls came over. Adrianna loves carrots. The little girls had Grammy read them books. It was a nice meal and nice company. Now to figure out what to get Mom for a gift. Course I haven't figured out my own gift yet, and my birthday was almost three months ago. :P

Thai Lotus
Audrie and I had dinner last night at Thai Lotus. Amanda had invited us to catch up. She used to work with me, but now works in a daycare. She then invited Jacob to join us. That means we had a work gossip session. Audrie didn't seem to mind that we talked over her head.

Duck
After I parked my car this morning I was walking on the sidewalk towards the building. As I passed a car I noticed a duck decoy sitting in the running water in the parking lot. Then I realized that it was not a decoy but a real duck. I was less than two feet away from it and it didn't care. It just looked at me while I talked to it. Funny duck.
Jacob said it has been around for a week anyway and not afraid of people. Funny duck.

Chicken Manure
Let me say that no one tailgates me when I am carrying a load of chicken manure for the garden. It is amazing how quickly they back off when they realize that stink is coming from me.
Anyway yesterday I went and got a load to get in the garden. I did feel bad when I kind of manured the motorcyclist. I expect him to go around me and he didn't. Seemed to take him a minute to realize he was being hit by that manure and then he too backed off.
The man who sold me the manure gave me a quick lesson. He has 38,000 baby chicks right now that are a week old today. He keeps them until they are 45 days and weigh about six pounds and then they go off to market. They are empty for about twelve days and then start with a new flock. Said they do six flocks a year. And these are cooking chickens. Fascinating. I'm just glad he has fertilizer for me.

My New Cup
I was shopping the other day and went by the dish section. At eye level was this black set of dishes. For some reason they called to me. And I thought oh they are beautiful. When I pulled the cup down it looked like this.
Audrie Knows What She Wants
Audrie kept bringing her bowl to Papa. Everything he could think to offer her was not what she wanted. They did this dance a few times until Papa figured out what she wanted. At night he and she sit in his chair and each have their own bowl of ice cream. They used to share, but one night she wanted her own bowl and it has been that way ever since. So today she was telling him she wanted her treat. Unfortunately for her she has to wait until after supper and it is treat time.
Boredom
Amazing. I actually hit boredom at work this week. All my fill-in work is done. So when I ran out of my usual things to do I had nothing to do. I sat, I wondered (trying to stay off camera), Oh I was bored. I am never bored. It is not a word in my vocabulary almost. So it was a weird morning. It would have happened again yesterday, but Alex was there to talk to me. Today will be fine because Jacob will be back. I may need an extra day off next week if this continues. :P

Amazing
So I am coming home from work today. In Battle Ground heading east on Main there comes a point where the four lane becomes two lane and the outside lane at that point becomes a right turn only lane. So I am in the inside lane as I am going straight. The guy beside me also goes straight. I was absolutely amazed when he wasn't going to let me take my lane. He did finally put on his brakes when he realized I was not giving up the road. I was surprised he didn't hit me first though. Happens frequently, but usually the people don't get so aggressive and realize they are in the wrong.

A Lot Done
I can tell I must be feeling better. I managed to finish mowing Jeannie's (thanks for starting honey), cleaned Mom's house, mowed Mom's yard, and got laundry done. My house looks better than it has for a couple of weeks, but has a ways to go. I also had dinner with David and lunch with Mona, Fred and Marilyn this weekend. All in all a very good weekend.

Feeling Better
If I wasn't coughing still I would say I was well. Guess the cough is going to hang on for awhile. Anyway I will live. Now Dave seems to have it. Bummer. Cassie and Myk are working. Myk is finishing up training and working. He goes onto the schedule next week for his shifts. :) We slowed down at work. I like the lulls. Mom, Audrie and I have our tickets for our trip to Minnesota in August. We'll be gone the 22nd through the 28th. We'll spend a few days on the farm and then a few days in the city. Mom has her 50th high school reunion. Tanya and the girls plan on meeting us there. Trying to get a pizza party set up for the time we are at the farm. Would be a great way to see most of the relatives there.

I Might Live
Still sick, but starting to feel better. Man. This is day nine. We are pretty sure it was the flu. I can't wait for my sense of taste to get back to normal. I managed to get a little done today so have to be feeling better.

Buttkicker
This cold has just knocked me on my butt. Rush week and I managed to put in three hours yesterday before I got sent home. Last night I finally got some good sleep. Had Dave get me some warming theraflu and that seemed to be the ticket to keeping me from coughing all night long. Hopefully it is almost over.

All Employed
Every one in the household, except Audrie is employed. Cassie got a job at Subway. Myk got a job at Jack in the Box. And Dave is going to work for the park. Yeehaw. Now I just wish I felt better so I could celebrate it.
