Amazing

When we think of bad things we don't think they are amazing. But I got to tell you the car crash I witnessed yesterday morning on the freeway was amazing. I did not know that an SUV could fly. Traffic wasn't as heavy as it is sometimes during morning rush hour (and probably a good thing). To me it appeared that this black SUV was making a lane change and did that oh shit someone is there thing. The white SUV in that lane also swerved over. At that time I did not know that the black one had hit the white one. So then the black one 360's back across two lanes of traffic. I thought maybe it had blown a tire until it started going up the embankment backwards. The momentum took it all the way back onto the freeway three lanes in a roll. Landed on its tires. That was freaking amazing. Now I stop and hope that all the drivers behind me see what is happening and don't take out my Mini. They stopped. I had pulled off the freeway and noticed that no one was going to the SUV. So I hop out and run across the freeway. Now I am a deer in the headlights kind of person. Don't have a clue what to do in these situations. The lady was conscious and I told her to shut the engine off even though it wasn't running. It is the only thing I know to do. I tell her to just not move and I will stay with her until the ambulance gets there. She has a little blood and I have no clue as to where it came from, but it isn't much. She tells me she wants to call her man. I don't have a cell phone. I ask her if she has one and look around for her purse. I never saw a purse. I did not see a purse in the debris on the road. She told me she didn't need an ambulance and I said she did and had to wait. She couldn't have gotten out her door anyway as it was blocked by the backseat door which had flown open as some point and was crushed. The ambulance, police and fire department were there within minutes.
There were two of us who witnessed and stayed. We got put in the backseat of a cop car. The cop did not seem to find me funny when I told him not to shut the door. Hey I am not going to be trapped in the back of a cop car. Anyway we made our statements. He then thanked us for staying. I commented that we were suppose to as it is the law. Again he gave me that look that says I am just stupid.
And as a sidenote, the lady driving the white SUV was fine...just a bit shook up.

  1. sadly i think more times than not people leave because they don't want to be bothered by having to wait around and give an account of what happened. takes up their valuable time. probably why the cop looked at you like you had a flower sticking out of your head.

    you are a great person!
