Farmer's Market

Myk, Cassie, Audrie and I ventured to the Farmer's Market today. First trip of the season. We saw lots of dogs and Audrie got to smell lots of flowers. We listened to a street performer and Audrie danced. We bought some flowers, pita bread, a cat toy and some tea. Papa did not care for the tea so it will be going to Jacob. Mittens loved the cat toy and drooled all over it. Ew. The flowers are beautiful and I'm sure the pita bread will taste great with my hummus.

Mom's Family Dinner

Mom's birthday was on Easter. So we celebrated last night with family dinner. BBQ-ed marinated round steak, grilled potatoes and carrots. Then there was pineapple upside down cake for dessert. Tanya and the girls came over. Adrianna loves carrots. The little girls had Grammy read them books. It was a nice meal and nice company. Now to figure out what to get Mom for a gift. Course I haven't figured out my own gift yet, and my birthday was almost three months ago. :P

Thai Lotus

Audrie and I had dinner last night at Thai Lotus. Amanda had invited us to catch up. She used to work with me, but now works in a daycare. She then invited Jacob to join us. That means we had a work gossip session. Audrie didn't seem to mind that we talked over her head.

Duck

After I parked my car this morning I was walking on the sidewalk towards the building. As I passed a car I noticed a duck decoy sitting in the running water in the parking lot. Then I realized that it was not a decoy but a real duck. I was less than two feet away from it and it didn't care. It just looked at me while I talked to it. Funny duck.
Jacob said it has been around for a week anyway and not afraid of people. Funny duck.

Running

Audrie discovered how much fun it is to run through clothes hanging on the line. She especially liked the sheets.

Chicken Manure

Let me say that no one tailgates me when I am carrying a load of chicken manure for the garden. It is amazing how quickly they back off when they realize that stink is coming from me.
Anyway yesterday I went and got a load to get in the garden. I did feel bad when I kind of manured the motorcyclist. I expect him to go around me and he didn't. Seemed to take him a minute to realize he was being hit by that manure and then he too backed off.
The man who sold me the manure gave me a quick lesson. He has 38,000 baby chicks right now that are a week old today. He keeps them until they are 45 days and weigh about six pounds and then they go off to market. They are empty for about twelve days and then start with a new flock. Said they do six flocks a year. And these are cooking chickens. Fascinating. I'm just glad he has fertilizer for me.

My New Cup

I was shopping the other day and went by the dish section. At eye level was this black set of dishes. For some reason they called to me. And I thought oh they are beautiful. When I pulled the cup down it looked like this.

Oh my goodness. It not only was calling, it was calling my name. I had to have that cup. So I spent the most money I have ever spent on a cup. $4. It was on sale. Makes a nice cup of tea.
