So Elizabeth was in the bookstore again this week. She walked right past me and I was standing 1.5 feet from her. Now granted I didn't see her as she came up as I was doing my job. But I did watch her walk right past me and I just stared in disbelief. That kind of hurt my feelings more than last week when she didn't try to see if I was working.
So today I get a text asking for my address so she can send me a graduation announcement. So I did the right thing and I texted my address back. There was no conversation. I didn't even bother to tell her that Mike had stolen her graduation present. He had informed me it was not gold. Duh. I can't afford real gold in the size the chain was, but it was a nice gold plated necklace. And it must have been worth something though as it didn't come back after he took it. And the way the last year has gone.....I'm not sure I'm all that upset about it.

Clam Digging
We got up really early and headed to the coast. Clam digging is open for this weekend with only AM digging. Low tide was at 9:30. And when it changed it changed fast. We were shy seven clams from three full catches. Each person was allowed 15. I didn't dig. I just helped look for holes and carried stuff.
Both kids were soaked to their thighs when we were done with filled boots. I was smart and planned ahead and brought dry clothes. We got hailed on briefly and that was strange. Pat got worn out since he actually had to dig his own and then help the littles. And naturally that means he did most of the labor on those.
I love that the littles just got a new experience and they loved it. The little woman was a little sad when she realized the clams were going to die. Such a compassionate heart she can have.

Weird Sky
The sky looked odd all afternoon. Like we were boxed in by dark clouds. When the littles and I went to get gas, this is what we saw of the sunset. The sky had the makings of a fantastic sunset. All we saw was a pink stripe. And that is weird.

Swimming, Swimming, Swimming
The littles have been asking and asking. When will they have swimming lessons again? So we bought new swimming suits at Costco. I got an email from the Vancouver Parks and Recreation telling me that registration was opening for classes.
So I went online and set up my new account, as they changed to a new service for registering. Found the class times that would work and signed them up. They will be doing classes Tuesdays and Thursdays through the month of May.
They are so excited.

Spring Rush
The boys who ride unicycles are still here. They came in together today. So I quickly snapped a pic of their wheels. They greatly amuse me.
It was our second day of working with Ramy. We don't know if he will be back. But I've got to tell you he was great. Funny with a dry sense of humor. Ramy came from Egypt. And we talked about food and his life here. He added a nice touch to our spring rush.
Mary told us she is definitely leaving. It is getting to be too much for her juggling two jobs and school. I can understand that. I just hope whoever Liz finds next is a keeper and sticks around.
And now I am ready to go back to normal short days. All my joints are telling me I have spent two days standing on hard surfaces without enough walking or sitting.

Spring On
Spring rush has begun and it was more than it has been. We noticed that we weren't as busy last week as normal. So that meant more people waited until today to get in and get their books. And the line stayed long. And the people were a little cranky.
I'm just grateful it has started and that we can move on to the next state of our ever changing job.
Oh and Elizabeth was in again today. She must have forgot something.

First Farmer's Market for Our Season
We had to make a stop at Winco first. And right off the bat the little woman found a painted rock from BG Rocks. She was so excited. It was her first rock. The little man has found two and we don't even look for them.
Then it was on to the Farmer's Market. We only bought lunch and cookies. We met lots and lots of dogs. They played on the playground and in the waterless fountain. They each got balloons from the old guy who sits by the restrooms. The other guy annoyed me last year and he did it again this year. I had told the kids no to balloons from him and to not ask. Well naturally they did and I said again no and we needed to go to the playground. Well as I had my back to him he was a little snide in saying "better go to the playground". We did and then the old guy came and sat up and we got balloons.
When it was time to go, no one complained as we had spent three hours walking and playing. They were really well behaved and got rid of a lot of energy.
