The Patch
Usually we get our pumpkins from Scented Acres. But this year she must not be doing them. No signs. No posts on facebook about them. Nothing. So this year I decided we would do one of the pumpkin patches that cost a bit more. A lot of people like Bi-zi farms. But I really have a tough time paying $60 for the four of us to go ride in a wagon, maybe do a maze and get four pumpkins. People seem to think this is a great deal and I'm like not really. $60 is almost a weeks worth of groceries.
So I went online and looked at what was available and off the Woodland we went. They have this really nice pumpkin farm called the Patch. No admission.
I have never been to a real pumpkin patch so had no idea what to expect or what to do. There were a lot of people milling around. A lot of people picking pumpkins, A lot of people doing pumpkin patch things. We got our tickets for the hay ride and the hay maze. Costed all of $7. The littles loved the hay ride. The little man said it was the best part. Then we found a wheelbarrow and off to the fields. The littles looked at a lot of pumpkins. I would have been happier with the first ones the little man picked, but he decided they weren't right. Finally they found three. Then we hit the already picked ones because I wanted a funny one. One with warts all over it. Got one of those and little white one. Found an interesting gourd inside a barn and they each got a fantastic apple. $15.
We opted not to do the hay maze. Little man had his heart set on the corn maze. So we used our hay maze tickets for him and paid for me. Another $5 (bringing out total to $27). And in the maze we went. Good thing we took a picture of the map or we would be lost for days. He kept telling me we were going to persevere though and we did. He was so excited when we came out the exit. Proud of him self.
It was a great outing and now we know how it all works and what to do next time.
