Weekend

We have Audrie all to ourselves this weekend. Cassie got invited to go to the beach with some new friends. So we are watching Audrie. Although that isn't anything new and unusual. We don't have any big plans other than our dinner out with friends on Sunday.

Beach

Dave and I had a wonderful weekend at the beach. Mona loaned us her beach cabin in Ocean Park. We drove down Friday afternoon and the weather was great. We noticed that there was going to be a Saturday Market in Ilwaco so we planned on going. We walked on the beach, drove on the beach, walked out the jetty and seen an eagle, ate mediocre food, and shopped. The best part was the Saturday Market and the bookstore in Ilwaco. I got to play tug with the owner's dog in the bookstore. Dave and I found a couple of books for the little girls. I can't wait to read "Bats at the Beach". Saturday was sunny and no wind until later in the day. We had a fire in Mona's firepit and watched movies. It was a really nice relaxing weekend and we needed that.

We Kind of Have a Garden

Dave got part of the garden in yesterday. It is still pretty muddy. He did the trellises different this year and I like how they look. He had a supervisor part of the time. She could have helped but he didn't want her in the muck. Now we just have to finish and hope for the best.

Audrie

Here are a couple of new pictures of Audrie. She likes to play with Mittens. Mittens seems to not mind her. Mittens is the only cat who will willingly be around Audrie when she is awake.

It Wasn't Hard

Myk and I have been playing this same song and dance over and over and over. He is an addict and I am co-dependent. So we dance. I've been following him down a bad road and knew at some point I would need to get off the road. Well he crossed a line that I could not accept and that put my mom and I at the police station. The police wished to arrest him immediately and wanted me to bring him to the station. That was not going to happen. Myk would run as soon as he figured out what I was doing. So we worked up a couple of scenarios that I was sure wouldn't work, but agreed to do it anyway. On my way to picking him, Cassie and Audrie up, the cop called me and changed the plan into a traffic stop. That might work. The whole drive to the mall I was so nervous. Not for doing it or for what would happen to Myk once arrested. I was nervous that he would figure out what I was up to because he is so attuned to me that it is hard for me to get things past him. I pulled it off and was pulled over once I hit the BG city limits. Myk immediately asked if I did this and I asked him if he did something wrong. He said he did. I suggested that he not run because they had the dog Haulf with them and he said he wasn't. So he was arrested and now faces the consequences of his actions. He is going to go through withdrawals cold-turkey and I have no sympathy for that. He could have chose to make the methadone clinic work, but I think he was just making us work.

Upheaval

Oh the upheaval in my life the past few weeks. Dave is back in treatment. Myk, Cassie and Audrie moved back in. Myk finally started a treatment program. It was a condition of moving back in. Work is starting to pick up. And my mom has slipped another cog or two. Sometimes it is hard to tell how many. Heather got married again and that feels like a loss.
I feel myself pulling back into my nice little ball and I need to not do that.

Music

Dave, Audrie and I went to Old Town Battle Grounds again and listened to music. Audrie and I got to listen to Ian Bristow with his instrumental guitar. Then Dave joined us in time to listen to Lucas Holmgren for awhile. We stayed until Audrie got fussy. She seems to be able to handle about an hour of containment before she gets bored. Lucas is a friend of Myk and Cassies' and he plays pretty nicely on his guitar.
