I had read an article in the paper about a food token match at the farmers market. The article wasn't real clear on how it worked, just that it was a $5 match from New Seasons for food stamp purchases. Never having had food stamps before I didn't know how that worked either.
Today the littles and I went to the market in the afternoon. Less crowded at the market and the playground. I found the information. Food stamps buy tokens and as long as I bought $5 worth I got an additional $5. It is not hard to spend $10. We got green beans, cherries, garlic and a cucumber.
As I was walking away from the token guy....he told me I can do this every weekend. Cool. The article definitely wasn't clear on that. I thought it was a one time thing.
