Grandparent's Day and a Block Party

We had Grandparent's Day at the assisted living facility today.  So we joined Grammy for lunch.  There was a choice of steak or nachos with blueberry pie for dessert.  The littles were well behaved and it went smoothly.
Then the evening came and it was time for a little block party.  Not everyone on the block attended, but there was a good turnout.  There was lots of food. Then the games began.  There was the water balloon toss which is always good wet fun.  And then they brought out the pinata.  It was a sturdy thing and took a lot of beating.  They broke a stick and an oar handle getting it to let go of the goodies.  The kids super enjoyed it.  The little man told me he was so happy....it was his first pinata.  It was her second.
I was so proud of the kids.  They helped clean up with no squabbles.  They just jumped in and helped.  When it was all done you couldn't even tell we had had a party in the street.
