Kindergarten Orientation/Conference
First day of kindergarten for my last kindergartner. It was a short day with only half the class there. Our district likes to start this way. That was each one gets a good first day with seeing how the routine works and not dropping through the cracks.
So my little man had to ride the bus with his sister first. That meant he was there half an hour early. They beat me by a minute and a half and that was all the time it took for him to be in line. He was in his line for half an hour and would not leave it. So I left him and watched from the parking lot until more kinderagartners and some parents showed up.
After class we had the conference and of course I was all up in it since the little woman just did it a couple of years ago. I think he is going to have so much fun and he has already shown his teacher how bright he can be. Hope he keeps it up. We gave her her gift card and she was beyond appreciative.
And so it goes. Two school aged kids now. Mike called before school to wish him luck on his first day. Mike so absolutely has the potential to be such a good parent. It is just too bad we mostly see it from incarceration. Anyway he called and that is the important thing.
