Body Safety

I thought it was time that we started teaching body safety.  The littles are old enough now to start understanding some concepts.  Like the difference between a secret and a surprise.  So we printed out the safety rules and have them hanging on our door.  We have read them and talked about them numerous times.  I want to empower them to be able to say "No" when something doesn't feel right.
It seems like every one wants to push stranger danger when most sexual abuse comes at the hands of friends and relatives.  So I don't preach stranger danger.  I am preaching body safety.  They have the right to say no and get away from someone making them uncomfortable.
From my standpoint I had to come up with new ways to teach this.  We no longer have our "protector" in Papa.  So we have to be much more self sufficient.  More self reliant.  And that means them too.  They just may grow up to be strong individuals.
So far we are doing really well.  They can tell me what the body safety rules are and how they apply.  We talk about it daily.  I want it to be stuck in their heads.
