We met up with my friend Katie today at Lewisville Park. She brought Jersey and Maddix. They are her grandchildren from her daughter Julie. The kids played on the playground and Katie and I had a few minutes to catch up. We plan on doing this again because Jersey likes friends and so does Audrie.
After they left we played some more. Walked down to the river and watched little fish jump. The kids threw rocks and sticks and leaves. They chased squirrels. They met dogs. They washed their hands in the river and climbed on rocks. Stretching their muscles and their imaginations.
They met new people and carried on conversations. They are learning to be polite and charming. They had a great time. The only hindrance was Connor falling in the parking lot right at first and skinning up his knee pretty good. We just lost the scab on the last knee boo boo two days ago. Life of a boy.
