Writing

It's a long time ago, but when I was in kindergarten we learned our abc's and our colors and our numbers.  Pretty basic basic stuff.  In the years and years since then they have discovered a lot about how we humans learn.  And they teach way different than they did.  Even compared to when the littles' dad was in school. 
The little man wanted to know how to spell turtle.  And this is our new thing......spelling all kinds of words.  Then he brings me this piece of paper and tells me he wrote a sentence.  And other than the punctuation on the end....he sure did. 
I am always amazed at how intelligent he is and how quick he picks things up.  He has been in kindergarten a month and a half and is writing sentences.  And he only needed me to help him spell the one word.  These are his strengths.  He will be a whiz at reading, writing and math.  Hoping it translate great in science. 
I know he has already picked up so much from his sister and her homework.  We made the job pretty easy for his teacher in respect to learning.  Now that drawing a man on the carpet with crayon.....that is a different story.  Although he says he is not going to do that again.
